Google announced the availability of Quickoffice for iOS and Android mobile devices for free. Consumers who will Signup on Quickoffice with their Google account before 26 September, 2013 will get 10GB of extra Google Drive storage in free for 2 years.

In June 2012 Google purchased Quickoffice, and its a big move by Google to make this productivity app free for all iOS and Android users now. This is also a big hit that no pro version of Quickoffice exists and the latest Quickoffice facilitates consumers to read, create and edit Word, Excel and Powerpoint files for free of cost.
On the other side Microsoft has also expanded MS Office suite to iOS and Android platform but users can only read their documents for free in app, and to edit they have to pay fee to Microsoft.
