GeoHot has released jailbreak application blackra1n for iPhone OS 3.1.2 devices. Blackra1n is very efficient 30 second jailbreak tool and works for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G & iPod Touch 3G running on iPhone OS 3.1.2. At the moment this jailbreak tool is available for Windows users only and soon it’ll be out for Mac.

GeoHot placed the following message for blackra1n users:

“Warning 3g and 3gs unlockers, do not upgrade to 3.1.2 using iTunes if you want to keep your unlock. Baseband cannot be downgraded. Check out the dev team’s offerings. Also blackra1n doesn’t hacktivate.”

I have installed firmware 3.1.2 via itunes 9, when i use blackra1n, it done successful but after complete it remain at restore format that is emergency call only mode. It can’t jailbreak my iphone 3g. please help…

Put your iPhone into RecoveryMode ..
go to task manager and kill iPod services and iTunes process.
Run the BlackRa1n..
get back with the results…

hi igot iphone 3g 3.1.2 7d11, how to jailbreak using any sim on it? but if i downloaded black ra1n and click make it rain , blackra1n was not available to connect on it, asl.dll of black ra1n was not recognized?
