Maybe you experienced today that some followers in your Twitter account are not displayed any more. That’s not the technical or any other fault with your twitter account because Twitter dropped spam accounts by itself. As spammers create much problems for twitter so twitter takes this action to remove those spammers completely from its platform. In past twitter done the same task to delete spam accounts to handle the same security problem.

So, Twitter said on this issue that ” For some time, the follower and following counts we display have been incorrect for some folks. We’re soon to push a change that will address this issue. This means that the count you see in your sidebar should match what you see on your follower and following pages.”

So, this is a good step by twitter to remove spammers who are damaging their business.
