Microsoft Video ActiveX control was attacked on June 6 and because of that some versions of Internet Explorer and systems were affected. According to Microsoft some external attackers successfully exploited the vulnerability in Microsoft Video ActiveX Control and gain the control as a local user.

So, Microsoft Security Advisory provides some recommendations and solutions for the users of Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7 which is running on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Whereas IE8 which is running on Windows Vista or Server 2008 is not affacted by attack but company still has some recommendations for the users of that version of Internet Explorer as well.
