You can add Google Search to you Gmail, which makes ease for you to conduct Google Search while you are in Gmail.
Follow these simple steps and see what advantages you’ll find:

• Login to Gmail
• Click Settings > Labs
• Enable Google Search option & Save changes

Now, go to your Inbox, you’ll find Google Web Search bar under the Chat & Labels window

When you conduct search here in Google Web Search it shows the results in a sub window in Gmail and that window stays on top but you can simultaneously work with your Gmail as you want

An important option of Google Search within the Gmail is that you can utilize your searched results in different ways, now it depends that at that time what you are doing as:

If you are composing email then your Google searched results give option to Paste result, Paste URL, and Send by email. To access these options just click on arrow near to your searched item

If you are chatting with someone, then Google Searched items give different options to share

And if you are reading your received email then it gives different options to use searched results in Reply email message

Whenever you conduct Google Search with Gmail, it saves your searched items, so you can remove it with Clear button
