You all are familiar with this thing that how we can change background color of our word document, while we are working in MS Word 2007. Just simply go in ‘Page Layout‘ menu and adjust it from Page Color option.

The question arise when you try to take a print of your this background changed document, it does not show the chosen background color in hard copy.

Then, how could you adjust this problem? Just by doing a little change in default printing settings of MS Word 2007. So, following these instructions to do so.

  • In Printing options section select the second check box Print background colors and images
  • Press OK

Now, when you’ll take a print out of your Word document it’ll show your background color.

One another important thing to remember is:
When you set a background once, MS Word 2007 preserves it as default background. Now, whenever you’ll create a new document and take its print out, you’ll find the same background color, which you have selected before. So, the solution for this problem is this that you have to re-set the change which you made before to adjust the background color.

Just de-select that ‘Print background colors and images’ option before you want to create another document. Suddenly, it’ll adjust the white default background color.

Great, this worked! I looked all over the place for this and wondered why it wasn’t a default. If we add color to a page and want to print it, odds are we want to print with that color. Oh well. Thanks for sharing!
