I’ve been having major malware/virus issues in the past number of weeks. And all my passwords stopped working so I”m convinced a key logger got into my system. I took off spyware doctor. Still have ad-aware which I think i’ll take off because it keeps showing the same “infections” everytime I run a scan. I downloaded BitDefender per your instructions, but my computer refuses to give the program control of my malware protection. It says it does not trust it because identify that publisher or something like that. COULD THIS BE ANOTHER VIRUS I’VE DOWNLOADED ONTO MY SYSTEM?

    @ Desperate
Nopes, it can never be a VIRUS.
It’s the stuff that’s was already in your PC and have control over Your PC. They are naming this antivirus as VIRUS because they don’t want anything that wud kill them :p

My personal advice is to try Spyware doctor and install some antivirus (I personally use Kaspersky).

If you are unable to install any antivirus, plug your HDD into someone else’s computer, don’t open any of your drives and run a full HDD scan.

You can also get rid of this infectious stuff by reinstalling you OS with formatting your C drive or the one where you are going to install OS. when you are done with the installation don’t open any drive, if your need to then user Start >> Run command to open it. Install antivirus. Run a full system scan.. Then it should be fine.
Hopefully it helps. Let me know what happens.

hiyya Adnan! thank you very much for responding.

Isn’t BitDefender an antivirus? I should download another? Wouldn’t it require me uninstalling BitDefender?

I”ll wanted to try Kaspersky’s online scan but it said it was not compatible with my system. Could it be because I”m running on Vista?

A friend told me to do sdfix. I printed out directions from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com. Do you think this is a good idea? I don’t want to ruin my sister but I need to get rid of this bug.

The friend also suggested I use AVG. Is that a good program?

I’m not doing anything further till I hear your opinion on that. I’ll be waiting

    Thank you,
    Desperate
