From the beginning of this month my each coming post is about Windows 7 and related stuff. So I’m gonna name it ‘Windows 7 month’.
Up till now I have wrote about:
- How to Unlock Windows 7 Taskbar/Superbar/Aero Shake
- Download Windows 7 Transformation Pack 2009
- Extend Your Windows 7 Testing Period from 30 to 90 Days
- Download Windows 7 Pre-Beta Build 6801
This time I have com up with an updated application in Windows 7 as compared to its predecessors i.e. Windows Calculator. Windows Calculator in Windows 7 features almost all functions of standard/scientific calculator. Unlike the old 2 Mode Windows Calculator, Windows 7 calc.exe feature four modes:

Standard Mode

Scientific Mode

Statistics Mode

Programmer Mode
Along with updated features, the interface has also been given decent clean look. This updated calculator has already been added to Windows 7 M3 Pre-Beta. On extracting Calculator files from there and applying it to Vista; guess what? it worked fine.
Here you can find the stuff that will enable this great new updated Windows 7 Calculator to your Windows Vista OS. Follow the link below to download a copy of it:
http://rapidshare.com/files/162537972/windows-7-calculator.rar
When you are done with the downloading, simply extract files from compressed rar file and execute the calc.exe file in your Windows Vista.
If you want to replace Windows Vista default calculator with Windows 7 Calculator; you need to perform following step:
(make sure you backup those files that we are going to replace.)
copy calc.exe to C:\Windows\System32\ copy en-US/calc.exe.mui to C:\Windows\System32\en-US\
Now Vista should display Windows 7 Calculator as its Default Calculator.
Have fun!
