Google released its fantastic virtual globe program named “Google Earth” back in 2005. Google Earth shows Satellite images of earth. These images can be zoom out and in and gives a bird eye view of houses, roads, cars, etc.
Now Google has release its Google Earth for iPhone and iPod Touch which means you can put the whole earth in your pocket by getting Google Earth in your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Google Earth for iPhone and iPod Touch features include:
- Tilt your iPhone to adjust your view to see mountainous terrain
- View the Panoramio layer and browse the millions of geo-located photos from around the world
- View geo-located Wikipedia articles
- Use the ‘Location’ feature to fly to your current location
- Search for cities, places and business around the globe with Google Local Search
Thanks to accelerometer and touch screen capabilities of iPhone that made use of this app lot more easier on iPhone than desktop PC. You can Zoom in and out with two finger pinch gesture. To slide across the globe, just drag your fingers across the screen.
