Web analytics is a software that helps advertisers in better targeting of their contents to consumers. Google released its Analytics tool (yes we are using it for our website) in November 2005 when it acquired software from Urchin and Adaptive Path, and Microsoft’s acquired adCenter Analytics in 2006 that is based on Deep Matrix.

Now there comes another important development in the analytics industry when Last week, Yahoo! acquired IndexTools, an enterprise level web analytics service provider. IndexTools is popular for its accurate and timely data supply that help users in timely performance measures of their online marketing campaigns and websites.
Previously, IndexTools charged up to tens of thousands of dollars per client per month. But after acquisition, COO of IndexTools announced that Yahoo! would be offering this service for Free! Currently, this great service by Yahoo! is free for existing IndexTools customers only if they sign a new service Agreement with Yahoo! and a publicly free version is expected with the very next update to IndexTools.
We should not forget that it’s the time when Microsoft is trying to acquire Yahoo!. Now future of IndexTools is a question mark for everyone. What if Microsoft and Yahoo! goes through a deal?
